Over the course of two days my colleagues Juliette Koning (Oxford Brookes University) Ioannis Chapsos (Coventry University), Pete Munro (IOM) and I (from left to right) conducted two focus groups with representatives of five different fishing communities and six different law anforcement agencies in Indonesia. Using collages as a new and innovative methodological tool to collect data.
Armed with magazines, scissors, glue and markers, the participants were asked to express their opinion on the human threats that come from the sea and the stakeholders combatting these threats in images. The results were as creative as they were revealing. I am now looking forward to analysis the data and go back to meet with the participants in their respective communities and organisations.
